Event table notes

Event data
Name: 1st International Women's Tournament
Place: London, England
Start date: 23 June 1897
End date: 3 July 1897

Notes:
Harding says in his Kibitzer article on the tournament that Miss Finn forfeited 11 games, Mme. de la Vigne forfeited 3 and Mrs. Stevenson her last round game. In personal correspondence he has corrected Miss Finn's list of forfeits to 10, and he has given me the opponents in each of the forfeits, which are now accounted for in my crosstable. He got this information from round-by-round results in the London Times, Lady's Pictorial and elsewhere.
