Biographical data |
Name: Rudge, Mary |
Also known as: Miss Mary Rudge |
Born: 6 Feb. 1842 |
Died: Dec. 1919 |
|
Notes: |
Gaige says born 1845, but Harding reports that 1842 is correct. John Richards also gives 1842; Forster gives 1845. A 'Mary R.' sent correct solutions to chess problems in the Home Circle in 1850 (24 Aug. 1850, p.128; 31 Aug. 1850, p.144; 14 Sept. 1850, p.176). Could this have been the 8-year-old Mary Rudge? |
