| Di Felice gives a full crosstable, without specifying sources. Harding searched for primary sources, but was unable to confirm that Evans lost to Poole in the last round, or that Lawrence beat Woon in the last round. Blackburne had finished his games by 21 Aug. 1897, but Harding reports that the Oct. 1897 issue of the British Chess Magazine implies that the Evans-Poole game had not yet been played. I adopt Di Felice's crosstable in full here, but without confirmation, the result of these two games, or whether they were actually played, has to be considered unclear. I take as end date Oct. 1897, but that is not clear either. |
