The sum of scores given in the Mar. 1942 České Slovo total 36.5, rather than 36 as they should for a 9-player single-round all-play-all tournament. I will guess that Sochr scored 0.5 rather than 1, as reported, but this may be wrong. Since the report of final scores appears in the Mar. 1942 issue, I will guess that it finished in Feb. 1942. It is not clear how this result is related to the full 11-player crosstable given by Di Felice from Československý Šach 1942 (p.27), which excludes Měkota, but includes Dušek, Kolb, and Zivny. The partial result in the Feb. 1942 issue of České Slovo is entirely consistent with that 11-player tournament, with the same 11 players, but both that and the result in the Mar. 1942 issue are referred to as the second stage of the qualifying process for the UJCS Congress in Pilsen, which also served as the championship of Ostrava. I list both results for now, but perhaps there is an overlap. |
