End date: 1942 |

Notes: |
It is not clear how this result is related to the result in České Slovo of Mar. 1942, which includes Zd. Měkota, but excludes Dušek, Kolb, and Zivny, and gives partial scores of 9 players. The partial result in the Feb. 1942 issue of České Slovo is entirely consistent with the 11-player tournament listed here, with the same 11 players, but both are referred to as the second stage of the qualifying process for the UJCS Congress in Pilsen, which also served as the championship of Ostrava. Měkota seems to have joined the tournament late (after the Feb. 1942 report) and had a partial score of 5/8 at the time of the Mar. 1942 report. I presume that he dropped out again, though, and did not complete the tournament, since he is not included in the crosstable of Di Felice, which cites Československý Šach 1942 (p.27), though I have not seen this. I will not include Měkota here, since I do not know which players he played, nor the individual results of those games. |
