| The report in the Illustrated London News (21 Aug. 1869, p.195) states who beat who, but I presume these all to have been single games per pairing as this was one of several events involving these players over a period of just a few days. No mention of any draws is made. The same can be said of the report in the Chess Player's Quarterly Chronicle (Oct. 1869, p.284) but this also talks of 'The game in the last round...' suggesting that indeed there was only one game per pairing. |
