Feenstra Kuiper gives the result as +6-3=1; Sergeant, Di Felice and the Berliner Schachverband website give +6-1=3; Charuchin gives 7.5-2.5. Feenstra Kuiper and Di Felice give the date as 1896; the Berliner Schachverband website gives 1895. Feenstra Kuiper gives the location as Budapest; Di Felice gives Szekesfehervar. Sergeant dates it to April 1896 and locates it in Budapest. There is a possibility that the location is confused with that of the earlier match. Charuchin says that Exner organized the match in Székesfehérvár, and that it was played from Oct. 2 to Oct. 10, 1896. However, the Deutsche Schachzeitung of Dec. 1896 (p.383) says that it was played in April, so it seems that Charuchin got the dates, and perhaps location, mixed up. |
