| Feenstra Kuiper, Di Felice and Alberti have +5-3=0 for Harrwitz, as does the Teplitz-Schönau tournament book, according to Spinrad; La Grande Storia degli Scacchi has +5-7 for Harrwitz and so does Schach Datenbank according to Spinrad, and the original report in Bell's Life in London (5 Jul. 1846, p.5). I have adopted the latter score. Walker calls this a 'friendly rencontre', which doesn't sound like a formal match. I guess that the rencontre occurred in June 1846. |
