| The Sept. 1846 issue of Le Palamède says that Lécrivain has been for a time in Strasbourg playing chess. The combined result of this match and the more informal series of games between him and Ehrmann was given by Ehrmann in a letter dated 15 Nov. 1846, so it had finished by that date, but it is unclear when it started (though certainly in 1846). |
