Notes: |
One of two sets of games between these players, Dubois giving Pawn and move in the other. Hooper and Whyld give date as 1845 and say they were friendly games; Di Felice, Spinrad and La Grande Storia degli Scacchi give 1846. The Chess Monthly of July 1858 has one of the games, dated to 1845, the issues of Mar., June and Aug. 1859 have other games, dated Nov. 1845, and the issue of Nov. 1859 has a game dated Dec. 1845. I conclude that the series of games lasted from 1845 into 1846. |
