Notes: |
Löwenthal (in Fiske) says that this was a formal match and took place in New York. Staunton gives the result (+5-2=1) in the Illustrated London News (23 Mar. 1850, p.195). The combined total of this and the previous match (+11-4=3) is given in the Albion of 9 Mar. 1850. Since it took place after the Stanley-Turner match (11-14 Feb. 1850) and before Löwenthal and Turner left New York (3 Mar. 1850), I presume it took place in Feb. 1850. |
