Notes: |
This is a partial result, after 10 games had been played (+4-3=3 for Janssens), given in the 27 Aug. 1854 issue of the Era. The 8 Oct. 1854 issue gave the deciding game, a win by Janssens, who therefore won the match, but with what final score is not stated, though we may presume that Janssens won by only one game. A couple of games that might have been from this match are given in the Chess Player's Chronicle of June 1859 (pp.177-178), though it is said there that they were played in 1853. |
