Notes: |
The 30 May 1858 issue of the Era (p.5) announces a third match between Boden and Owen. The final result of +5-1 for Boden is given in the 20 June issue (p.13). The Mar. 1859 issue of the Chess Player's Chronicle gives the result +5-1=0 of this third match and a faulty score for the first match, with no mention of the second. Sunnucks cites these same scores, and Sergeant also gives +5-1=0 for the third match, but gives another incorrect score for the first match. |
