   | Sergeant, in Morphy Gleanings (p.17) gives +19-8? as a total between Morphy and Barnes and the Spirit of the Times of 13 Nov. 1858 has +25-6=0 for Morphy. Almost all other sources give +19-7=0. A letter by Edge dated 9 July 1858 gives +13-6=0 for Morphy, for games played up to that date. Here I record the first series of games with score +13-6 separately from the set played in August. These were played sometime between Morphy's arrival in London in June and the date of Edge's letter in July. |
