Notes: |
Dates from Tim Harding (from the Dundee Advertiser and the Dundee Courier and Argus). Note that the two games headed as Steinitz - G.B. Fraser games on pp.332-334 of the Dec. 1867 issue of The Chess World (vol.3) are actually between P. Scott and G.B. Fraser, as indicated in the introductory sentence, and as clarified on p.388 of the Jan. 1868 issue. The Philadelphia Daily Evening Bulletin of 19 Apr. 1867 gives the result as +3-1=1 for Steinitz. The Brooklyn Daily Eagle of 27 Mar. 1892 gives +3-1=3 for Steinitz. The other sources give +3-1=2 for Steinitz. |
