| Reichhelm gives +0-1=0 for Bird, as does the Sunday Republlic of 13 Feb. 1876 (see van Winsen, p.91) and the Westminster Papers of 1 May 1876 (p.3). The Philadelphia Intelligencer of 15 Feb. 1876 gives +1-1=0 for Bird and the 30 June 1876 issue reasserted that this was the correct score (see van Winsen, p.91). Played during Bird's visit to Philadelphia in Feb. 1876, according to van Winsen. |
