Biographical data |
Name: Fisher, George Frederick |
Also known as: Fred Fisher |
Born: 6 July 1857 |
Died: 28 Aug. 1944 |
|
Notes: |
The New York Evening Telegram of 1 Apr. 1885 and the British Chess Magazine of June 1885 (p.212) have 'G.F. Fisher'. Discussion on the Narraway page at chessgames.com suggest that his name was George, but that he was sometimes known as Fred. Philip Jurgens has found out that his full name was George Frederick Fisher, and sent a copy of his death certificate, which gives birth and death dates. |
