| Renette, in his biography of Bird (p.455), says that Rolland was a 'young Frenchman' in London from at least 1888, who is variously referred to as 'M. Rolland' (probably 'M' for Monsieur), L. Rolland, A.J.B. Rolland, and J.B. Rolland. So his forenames are not at all clear. |
