Biographical data

Born:
Died: 1892

Notes:
A player named 'Knott' appears in the Illustrated London News of 22 Sept. 1849, the Chess Player's Chronicle of Oct. 1849 (p.290) and La Régence of Nov. 1849 (p.343), playing in consultation with Tilghman against Harrwitz (who played blindfold). This is probably the American player, Hubert Knott, since Tilghman was also visiting Britain from the States.
