| There is the possibility of confusion with Manuel Muñoz y Castro (sr.), the father of this Manuel Muñoz, and also with Enrique M. Muñoz (also called 'Henrique'), since Manuel Muñoz, jr., was sometimes called 'E. Muñoz' (Brooklyn Daily Eagle, 26 Nov. 1870, p.2; 16 Jul. 1873, p.2) or 'Emanuel Muñoz' (Brooklyn Daily Eagle, 5 Dec. 1870, p.4). The passenger list of the Ida, which arrived in Philadelphia on 24 July 1862 from Venezuela, has 'Manuel Munoz, Jr.' age 19, so he was born between 25 July 1842 and 24 July 1843. The father, Manuel Muñoz, sr., died earlier in 1889; Manuel Muñoz, jr.'s death was announced in the 2 Nov. 1889 issue of the Brooklyn Daily Eagle, and so probably died at the end of Oct. or on 1 Nov. 1889. |
