Biographical data |
Name: Grgurič, Václav |
Born: 27 Feb. 1897 |
Died: 7 Nov. 1983 |
|
Notes: |
Di Felice has 'Grguric, Viktor', but Gaige in Chess Personalia has a 'Grgurič, Václav'. I am guessing that these are the same and that Di Felice erred in the first name. Gaige's Chess Personalia gives birth and death dates for Václav Grgurič as 13-10-1908 and 11-03-1952, which would mean he was 17 years old at the time of the Prague tournament of 1925-1926 (not impossible). However, Malá Encyklopedie Šachu (p.114) gives his dates as 27-02-1897 and 03-02-1984. The book by František Trávníček gives dates as 27-02-1897 and 7-11-1983. This last source seems most reliable. |
