Notes: |
Gaige and Di Felice have 'R.J. Spencer' here; chessgames.com has 'George B Spencer'. Checkmate of Sep 1903 (p.277) has 'G. Spencer'. Checkmate also has 'C.T. Fleet' while chessgames.com has 'C P Fleet'. Gaige's crosstable has a result of '1?' for Eppens against Bigelow, but '1/2?' for Bigelow against Eppens. Di Felice and chessgames.com indicate that the game was a draw. In the play-off, Gaige says that Johnston drew one with Uedemann, and that if they played a 2nd game, the result is unknown. Chessgames.com says that the second games was adjourned and 'apparently never finished'. |
