Event table notes

Event data
Name: 3rd South American Championship
Place: Mar del Plata
Start date: 6 Mar. 1928
End date: 31 Mar. 1928

Notes:
Di Felice and BrasilBase indicate that Perea defaulted to Pulcherio and Anfruns, and Hernández defaulted to Romano, Gabarain, Ureta and Vianna. Gaige shows all games as played. Jorge Magioncalda (personal communication) cites La Capital (Mar del Plata) of 22 Mar. 1928, which says that Perea did actually play and lose to Pulcherio, though the game score was lost, and similarly, Hernández did play and lose to Vianna.
