Notes:
Gaige and Di Felice show Cordel's games with Dahn, Schlesinger and Bierbach as not played and scored as losses for both players. Brüderschaft of 4 Jun. 1887 (p.191) shows these three games as unfinished. The crosstable in Brüderschaft also shows Schlesinger's games with von Scheve and Heyde as unfinished, but Gaige and Di Felice show these as a loss and a draw for Schlesinger, respectively. Could it be that these two games were played later? Neither Gaige nor Di Felice give a source for their crosstable. Scores given in the Deutsche Schachzeitung of Jun. 1887 (p.186) are consistent with the crosstable in Brüderschaft, with the additional unfinished games. Without knowing where Gaige got his crosstable, I will follow the crosstable of Brüderschaft. Di Felice has a missing entry in the crosstable for the Seuffert - von Bardeleben game, but the crosstables in Gaige and Brüderschaft show it as a draw. Brüderschaft (p.192) and the Deutsche Schachzeitung (p.186) also mention that Dr. Landau had withdrawn and some of his games recorded as losses were actually not played. It is not clear which, however. Three other players, Bresslau, Jablonsky, and Ranneforth withdrew before completing half their games, and so were eliminated from the table. Cordel and Heyde had won from some of these.
