Notes: |
The scores reported in the San Diego Union of 9 Jul. 1916 add to 92.5 instead of 90 as it should be for a 10-player double-round all-play-all tournament. It is not clear where the erroneous extra 2.5 points are given, but perhaps the most likely possibility is the second of the two players listed with identical scores of 8.5-9.5, namely Strock and Rohde. If Rohde's scores were mistakenly copied from Strock's, as the player above in the list, and Rohde's score was actually 6-12, then all adds up correctly. This may not be correct, of course, and if so then an error has been introduced, but I am assuming this as the most likely case. |
