The American Chess Bulletin of Mar. 1909 (p.60), the Brooklyn Daily Eagle of 13 Feb. 1909 (p.26), the Chess Weekly of 20 Feb. 1909 (p.101), and the New York Tribune of 13 Feb. 1909 (p.11) all have 'S. Lipschuetz' in this event, but he died in 1905. It was his brother, Philip Lipschütz, who played in this event, as indicated by Davies (pp.367, 376).
