Reichhelm gives 'L. Stadelman' playing as early as 1896. If, as I am supposing, this is Samual Leigh Stadelman, then he was about 15 years old at the time. The Philadelphia Inquirer of 24 June 1906 has 'L.S. Stadelman'.
