| Urcan (p.135), quoting the New Orleans Times-Democrat of 7 Apr. 1895, gives 'Edgar R. Farrar' but also mentions an 'E.H. Farrar'. Furthermore, Urcan mentions (p.132) an 'E.A. Farrar' as a committee member of the New Orleans Club, and (p.235) gives a game between Albin and 'E.A. Farrar'. Presumably, this game is meant to be one of the two played against 'Edgar R. Farrar'. The New Orleans Club Membership lists of 1881 and 1882 have 'Edgar H. Farrar' only. Whether or not there was more than one player named E. Farrar is unclear, but I will guess that they were all Edgar H. Farrar. |
