Name: 5th British Chess Federation Congress - First Class, Section A |
Place: Tunbridge Wells |
Start date: 10 Aug. 1908 |
End date: 22 Aug. 1908 |
|
Notes: |
Gaige has 'F.S. Smith' and 'F. Fawcett' at this event, while Di Felice has 'Smith, Stephen Francis' and 'Fawcett, Edward Douglas'. The British Chess Magazine has 'F.S. Smith (Oxford)' and 'E.D. Fawcett'. I am guessing that it was E.D. Fawcett, and the 'F.S. Smith' who played in Oxford at various events from 1896 to 1910. Also, I am guesing that the 'E. Palmer' at this event listed by Gaige ('E.D. Palmer' according to Di Felice and the British Chess Magazine) is the 'Eddie Palmer' who played in Exeter in 1901-1903. |
