Place: Bristol |
Start date: 4 Aug. 1873 |
End date: 9 Aug. 1873 |
|
Notes: |
Di Felice has 'Thomson, John Graham' at this event, but he was born 1855 or early 1856 and so was only 17 or 18 years old. Staunton's report in the Illustrated London News gives 'W. Thomson', a member of the Bristol and Clifton Chess Association, as does the Era and Forster. Forster indicates that Burt defaulted to Skipworth, Ranken and Rowley; Gaige, Di Felice and Staunton, and the Era do not mention that these games were defaulted. |
