Event table notes

Event data
Name: Bath - Bristol and Clifton Club Match
Place: Bath
Start date: 7 June 1883
End date: 7 June 1883

Notes:
The Western Daily Press of 8 June 1883 gives 'G. Hall' as the last Bristol and Clifton player, while the Bath Chronicle and Weekly Gazette of 14 June 1883 gives 'W. Hall'. The two newspaper accounts also differ on the result of the match Rumboll-Rudge, the former (earlier) account giving +1-0=1 for Rumboll, while the latter (later) account gives +1-1=0. I will guess that the latter was a correction of the former. It was certainly not local bias, since the result was worse for the Bath team.
