| Staunton (Illustrated London News, 19 Aug. 1871, p.163) lists 'Haseldon' as one of the players present at the Malvern 1871 meeting, but has 'H. Hazelden' as the competitor in the 2nd class tournament there. The Chess Player's Quarterly Chronicle (Oct. 1871, p.345) has 'Haseldon' in the 2nd class tournament, and (Aug. 1871, cover) 'H. Haseldon' of Birmingham as a member of the committee for the event. The Malvern Advertiser (12 or 19 Aug. 1871) has 'H. Haselden' in the event. The Era of 20 Aug. 1871 (p.7) has 'J. Haselden' at this event. |
