Place: Newark
Start date: 28 Jan. 1892

This was a 16-a-side team match. The International Chess Magazine shows Ryan losing to N. Hilbert and Lahde give the result 10.5-5.5 for Manhattan, consistent with Ryan winning. The Brooklyn Daily Standard-Union shows Frankel's opponent as Nadler, but the American Chess Monthly has J. Stein and the International Chess Magazine has Julius Stein.
