Notes:

Name often given as 'Hatherley'. His obituary in the Wanganui Chronicle of 13 Feb. 1922 says he died at 78 years old. That would put his birth in 1843 or 1844, but Gaige gives his date of birth as 03-10-1856. Michael Kühl sends confirmation of his exact birth (3-10-1843) and death (10-02-1922) dates from ancestry.com.
