| The Westminster Papers (1 Apr. 1874, p.245, and 1 Apr. 1875, p.237) has 'A. Tracey' playing for Oxford, whereas the Illustrated London News (27 Mar. 1875, p.307), the Chess Player's Chronicle (Apr. 1875, p.254) and Sergeant (p.297) have 'C. Tracey'. The Chess Player's Chronicle of Dec. 1873 (p.377) has 'Tracy', as does the City of London Chess Magazine of Mar. 1875 (p.36). Harding has 'Campbell Tracey' and gives the date of his matriculation as 1873 at age 18, so he was born in 1854 or 1855. |
