The 13 Dec. 1882 issue of the Chess Player's Chronicle (p.592) has 'T.B. Jerard'; the 5 Apr. 1882 issue of the Chess Player's Chronicle (p.164) and other pages in the same volume have 'T.B. Gerard'; the 16 Dec. 1882 issue of Land and Water (p.488) has 'T.R. Gerard'; the 14 Jan. 1882 isue of Land and Water has 'Gerard'. His surname is also sometimes given as 'Gerrard'. The Minutes Book of the Nottingham Club has 'T.B. Gerard' almost universally, but 'T.B. Gerrard' in one place. The Record Book of the Nottingham Club has 'T.B. Gerard' everywhere. Forster has 'Gerrard, T[homas]'.
