| Chess Tournament Crosstables has Heppel; Di Felice and Forster have James Thomas Heppell. The Chess Player's Chronicle and the British Chess Magazine consistently have 'J.T. Heppell'. The Daily News of 24 June 1885 (p.3) has 'G.P. Heppel'; and the Daily News of 27 June 1885 (p.6) has 'G.T. Heppel', as does the Chess Monthly of July 1885 (p.325). The Chess Monthly of Jan. 1885 (p.131) has 'J.T. Heppell'. I am guessing that these players are the same. |
