Event table notes

Event data
Name: East and West of Scotland Match
Place: Edinburgh and Glasgow
Start date: 4 May 1872
End date: 4 May 1872

Notes:
Two West of Scotland players forfeited, Duncan against Wyse and Dr. Labone against Lindsay. I am guessing that the 'Roberton' or 'Robertson' on the West of Scotland side was J.P. Roberton, and that 'Ross' was A. Ross, rather than T.K. Ross. The Dundee Courier and Argus mentions two draws (Omond-McTarget and G.B. Fraser-Hunter), which are not mentioned in the Glasgow Herald. The Westminster Papers of 1 June 1872 (p.18) says three games were drawn.
